An Earthen Vessel
The fact that we're called earthen vessels doesn't carry with it some sort of curse! Why would a benevolent Creator who is said to be LOVE, create that which is flawed or of little value. Enough already of the put down and meritocracy steps to free one of such low status. May we continue the journey of life "until Christ is fully developed in your lives (Gal. 4:19)."
Life is a journey wherein we mature and develop! Transformation isn't a one time event in history.
What fully developed means I don't profess any great esoteric insight, but that which I do know is something like these four general steps.
1-We come into the world not by original sin, but original innocence.
2-We and taught and we learn about life that develops a "deceived or false self".
3-Through a deeper awareness of the spirit that resides within, we begin to die to the "egoic self".
4-The more mature we allow union between the I and the AM, the "true self" begins to come forth.
Remember, Jesus was once an earthen vessel and He showed us how we're to deal with part of who we are. At some point (His baptism?) Jesus understood that He was loved by the Creator-Father-God and that the earthen vessel that He had worked with for thirty years was in all actuality just the exterior form that housed the reality of the Spirit being that He was. And from that day forward Jesus could declare.................I AM!
And Jesus could from that time forward live with the faith-recognition of who He was... the I AM that's a door, shepherd, way, truth, life, resurrection, light, bread, water, etc. Get the point?
