I need advice with shark fishing reels!?
I recently started fishing for sharks. I use a Penn Senator 113H with 80 pound braided line. Is it this a good reel to use or should I get a bigger, if so what do I have and where I can buy online. and also what is the best proof pound line should i use? * Well I caught my first shark with my current roll. It was a five-foot bull shark and my reel seemed to handle it very well. but I had 80 pounds later my test was broken twice after that ... so I'm looking for a reel that will hold the line much longer and stronger line. I wish I had a reel that contains about 1000 meters or more than the 100 pounds or so. and I really do not want to spend much more than 300 in the spool
a 4 / 0 should be a good size for most sharks. is considered a spool of 50 pound class. if you are using a gel-spun braided SUPERLINE, 80 must be fine. if you are using braided Dacron, will take place about 500 meters from the 50. not so much 80. if you need 80 pounds of Dacron, maybe you should amount to 114 6 / 0. they have enough 80 for all but the larger sharks. Bass Pro Shop sells, and its availability on eBay. if you have your drag set correctly, the only way you should be broken with 80 is if you lose your line and get in line. in this case, you need a large spool. 1,000 meters of Dacron 100 lbs fit on a 116 penn 10 / 0. this is what he used for large fish. find a used one on eBay. There is no way to carry out this reel.
