What to do in Pattaya, Thailand
Visitors to Pattaya in Thailand often immediately think of the beach (and well they should, with so much going on there) or night life (with its infamous reputation), but do not forget the following when spending time in this great city:
Water Sports
The number water sports available in Pattaya is amazing. Try your hand at sailing , wind surfing, jet skiing, parasailing, kayak or boat torpedo. Also, if you like, mix a boat trip to the outer islands with some fishing or diving.
Eat out
Along both Pattaya and Jomtien beaches you will find some restaurants that offer a mix of Thai and Western cuisine. Be sure to try and find seafood restaurants Thai are eating less, because those are the freshest!
Amusement Parks
In and around Pattaya, There are a couple of parks that should be part of any visit, especially for families with children. Underwater World has a fantastic aquarium with lots of activities for visitors. For something a little more adventurous, try Funnyland amusement park rides with its carnival. Moreover, Pattaya Water Park offers fun like the kind of water.
Shopping
Pattaya has a number of modern shopping centers, along with a couple of big shopping centers Factory Outlet offers brand names at great prices. Just make sure you have enough space in their suitcases. Remember also that tourists can claim back VAT.
Museums with a twist
Nearby, Mini Siam offers a vision of the past in Thailand mini being the keyword, since all this reconstruction has small miniatures of historic buildings. Otherwise, check out Ripley Believe It or Not for a visit to a museum with a difference.
Other Sports
Pattaya has some magnificent golf courses (no need to bring your own computer if you are struggling with the baggage) and a large number of courses karts. You can also try paintball or laser tag.
Parks Natural
If you're more interested in seeing some of the most exotic fauna of Thailand, a number of parks that offer a taste of nature. Sriracha Tiger Zoo offers a close (very close) look at these magnificent wild cats. The Million Years Stone Park and Pattaya Crocodile Farm is mixed plant and animal life in a beautiful place. Another option is to visit the Nong Nooch Tropical Garden for a look at the amazing flora of Thailand. And, of course, no visit to Thailand is complete without experiencing the elephants have their own in Pattaya Elephant Village.
With all of the above (and more) that are offered, it is easy to spend 2 weeks in Pattaya and still not see everything.
