Help on fishing saltwater flathead?
What are some good lures/baits, rods and methods of fishing for flathead?
Flatheads are a bottom dweller, and tend to have a lye. This usually means that they like sitting on sand banks with the tide moving across, and catch anything that moves over the bank with the water. I usually use fresh bait with a very small sinker at the hook with a long trace that leads to a larger sinker. You want your bait as close to the bottom as possible. No real special rod or reel needed, a normal rod will do. I use an old estuary rod with a sidecast reel.
