The Lord will provide
Great rivalries. History is full of them. Octavian and Mark Antony. Churchill and Hitler. But it is easier to detect large rivalries in a single athlete sports, like tennis or boxing. John McEnroe, mercury, emotionally charged, rash America and Bjorn Borg, ice cream, Swedish mechanics. No snub women! Cute and talented Chrissy Evert against Martina killing machine Navatilova. In boxing? Muhammad Ali and Joe Foreman. The material of legends.
There is a rivalry less known in the Bible. Today we begin the stories of these two men against everything under the sun in the heavens above. On the one hand corner, the prophet of God, Elijah Tishbite. In the other corner, Ahab, King of Israel.
No man could be more different. No two lives could be more antagonistic to each other. Elijah have nothing but condemnation of Ahab. Ahab try to kill the prophet more than once. As the writer of sacred history presents us with these rivals, since their first meeting, not even agree that

1.Food for the soul.
2. Food for the body.

There is a greater good than me. There is a higher goal than pleasure going through piety. That greater good and higher purpose is the true God, the Lord. He is the Saviour of soul. By his word our faith is fed. He speaks of his love. He speaks of his forgiveness. Its absolute commitment that makes us a life of service to him. "Le serve, "says Elias. Not for the girls. not to laugh. I used because it is the only God who can save.
Now, the problem with a God who feeds our soul is that it is very difficult to see that happen. The Lord provides food for the body.

I guess the only political tired of the juices of the system and spinning the reels. So it seems that the next two years is not going to be the biggest for us. Some of you who are in the construction industry can already be feeling the pinch. The paper is not there as it used to be. Forget overtime. Maybe you've gone the construction business and started as something else. For others, the trip once a month for the website that tells you what your home value has become out almost daily, and every day your house is worth a little less, but still looking like a person who can not take his eyes off the wrecked cars in the intersection. And if the inflation rate is so low, since all retirees can see how little Social Security checks have increased, so why is food so high? Why is the cost of gasoline seems reasonable when compared with the cost of prescription drugs?
Yes, there will be tough times ahead. And there will be days or nights when we wonder whether we can succeed. After recalling the biblical story. Proves that God is food for our soul food supply for our body. He did not leave Elijah starve. He found a way to keep your prophet believe. God will not let you starve and me. He will take us through.
I other words, it is not the first of the hard times some of us have experienced. Some of us were children when they were actually rationing food, things like meat and sugar and butter, in America, because we had to send everything overseas to feed our troops in England before D-Day. Some of us ventured out to play in the snow because of the low on nuclear testing and the consequences that extend throughout the world. Some of us think blood from a leg wound in Vietnam. Some of us thought we'd be dead in six months after the first doctor told us it might be cancer. Some of us expected to divorce the first time that the husband dear and beloved wife said they were not really having much fun in marriage, because I thought they would. And yes, there was a moratorium on construction in the city in 1992, the bursting of the dotcom boom of 1998, the 09/11 call attention in 2001. Who of us was rolling in the dough after our first new car purchase or signed our first mortgage?
And here we are. The Lord saw us through. We have allowed large keep some of our savings. There seems to be food on the table, judging by the number of belts that have grown out. A roof over our heads and a shirt on his back, central air conditioning and maybe even a pool or spa in the backyard. No matter what the next few years bring,
The Lord will provide.
1.Food for the soul.
2. Food for the body.
Maybe I left out the biggest rivalry. But it's not really a rivalry, because you have equally matched antagonists to be a rivalry. God and the devil, I would say. But that would be a mistake. What can give the devil? Happiness? Nope. Eternal life? Nope. Can not even keep life going strong here on this earth. But the Lord has provided and will continue to provide them. Love him and serve him only.
