IN/AROUND NEW JERSEY SHORE
just tell me how to catch stripers off surf
if you have any info on how to catch blues/flounder/kingfish in nj that is appreciated as well
if you look up rooster fish records from shore and striper fish records from shore you will find the anglers are using the very same equipment (rods, reels, line and lures) good luck and enjoy.
Flounders in harbors and bays will always be: 1) facing the current and 2) in some kind of shade. So! You can use feather jigs white or light faded yellow and add a strip of squid to the hook Or fish plastic flukes, curley tail grubs, swim baits and if you can paint the back of the ball of the lead head red so when you put on the paddle tail the ball head in the back looks like flaired gills) and fish the paddle tail baits figuring 3/8 ounce on the slow (slack tides) and up to 3/4 oz on the fastest moving tides always cast upstream and bring the baits back to you while facing up stream. bring them around pilings and stumps the same way under docks bounce them and hang on.
