Top Lure for Pike Miss start of season
Pike spawn in shallow weedy bays shortly after ice out. Bays and coast lines located on the north side of the lake will be the first to warming, and are most attractive to pike cruise. Once spawning is completed, most fish stay in these bays for some time, absorbing the bait fish available and waiting for a warming trend occurring in the main lake area.
Find out shallow bays to find after spawning pike. Make sure the area you are concentrating into account a variety of cover - whether poor grass, logs or stumps - and is two to six feet.
Spinnerbaits
One of the most productive and easiest bait to fish for pike spring is the spinnerbait. It represents an easy meal, has a bulky profile in the water and gives off flash and vibration.
My personal preference at the beginning of the season is for a sport spinerbait a large piece of willow leaf, a body of strong wire to lift against the abuse of a pike can dish out and the skin once or nylon skirt that ripples in the water very well.

Topwaters
Their are a variety of topwater baits on the market that are suitable for early pike.
The buzzbait is a great choice because of the large silhouette offers and shock the exhibition area. Fish this bait with a constant
recovered.
Another major attraction is the Zara Spook. The vague movement from side to side is intoxicating both aggressive and neutral fish. Choose the larger version and sure to scare fish the lure with a fishing line in order to save him from the clutches of this predator.
Spoons
Spoons have become a staple among the first fishing season for pike and always right - that the catch of fish. incorporates proven Development spoon are the Red, Five of Diamonds, and many of the Williams line of baits. Experiment with different weights, and thickness of the bodies, in order to identify those with the movement and action as appropriate in the water.
One trick to keep in mind for the fish that are still refusing to strike, is to leave the spoon suddenly mid-roll and let it flutter down slowly. This tactic to attract most of the "hot" pike to strike, and has been shown repeatedly sometimes over and over again.
