kona boat charter

kona boat charter
How can I get from Maui to Kona (Big Island)?

What are the best interisland airlines or are there boats that can ferry a family of nine from Maui to Kona? water taxis? Private Charters? We see there are some $39 one-way fares on PWExpress-- is this a good deal?

There are 5 major carriers that travel interisland. They are Hawaiian airlines, Aloha airlines, Aloha Island Air airlines, Go! airlines, and Pacific Wings (which is your PW Express). There are other smaller airlines that travel back and forth but those are smaller airlines and will have very limited schedules and often cost the same.

Aloha Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are jet planes while Go!, Pacific Wings, and Island Air being prop planes. Prices on all airlines are about the same because there is currently a fare war going on.

There are no water taxis or ferries that go back and forth between Maui and Kona.

Unfortunately, most airlines will not travel between Maui and Kona directly. Flights that go from any outer island location will often go through Honolulu so as to pick up more passengers and make the flights more universal.

Hope that helps you.......good luck finding something.....and happy travels!
