grouper fishing trips
What is the best bait to use for a Grouper , a Red Snapper and a Sting Ray ?
I am going on a fishing trip to a kelong in Malaysia and i am hoping to catch many fishes such as the Red Snapper , the Grouper as well as the Sting Ray ... Please tell me what is the best bait to use for the fishes that i have mentioned above ... Thanks ...
Red Snapper- "cut-bait", ( like chunks of Mullet or Menhaden, pinfish, Etc), squid, Jigs tipped with strips of cut-bait. If your offshore, live pinfish in 5-6" work excellent.
Grouper- Squid, cut-bait, Jigs/strip-bait combo or jig/curly-tailed plastic grub. If your offshore, live pinfish, crab, or eel.
Stingray- Any "dead-bait" fished on the bottom.
You CAN use Shrimp but you will have to "weed" through various "bait-stealers/dinks" to get to your target fish.
Remember, "live bait" is the way to go in most situations.
