Whale Physics Question?

The two new male whale sharks have recently died at the Georgia Aquarium. When whale sharks and whales, (the Whale Shark is the largest fish known) die, do they sink immediately to the bottom or do they float, like some fish? What about all the sea creatures (except of course, coral reef)? Do they get eaten first? I'm not trying to be demented with this question, I am just really curious. Thank you!
I am more wondering because it would take a lot of animals to eat an entire whale shark they can grow up to 40ft in length. However, that does make sense about all the smaller animals.

Whale sharks, as all sharks, have no swim bladder. Because their specific weight is slightly higher than sea water, they sink if they don't swim. So a dead whale sinks.
Some bony fish, such as mackerels, have secondarily lost their swim bladders, its the same with them.
Whales, now, usually have lots of air in their lungs. When they die, the musculature around their breathing apparatus relaxes, so the air can expand and lower the specific weight. They float, least until the air leaves the body.
