What permit do you need to fish in Florida?
I am moving to Pinellas, FL. I would like to know what do you need to be able to fish in sea and lakes, what are the fishing laws there. Thanks!
For fresh water you will need a fresh water fishing license. For salt water fishing from shore you will need a salt water shore permit or a salt water license. From a boat, unless it is a commercial vessel, you will need a salt water license. If taking certain species you will also need a special permit, such as snook or tarpon.
If you intend to sell any part of your catch you will need a commercial license. If you own a boat and intend to take others out and charge them for the service you will also need a commercial vessel license.
