How do I fish for flounder?
I live in the big lagoon area of pensacola, florida, which is a inter-coastal area of northwest Florida. Every time i go fishing off a dock all i seem to catch is pin fish or small red fish and i wanted to start flounder fishing.
I'm not familiar with that part of the great state of FLA.. but you need to find out if flounder are common in the area you're fishing. Ask at your local independent bait shop. Flounder will take small minnows readily, those pin fish you're catching may be good bait. Mud minnows are excellent bait too. They ambush their prey, so fish a livey kind of like you would a plastic worm for bass. Live shrimp works too. Main thing is to find out where those door mats are.
