Split-shotting has been around the fishing scene in one form or another since the beginning for putting a worm on a hook. But it was not really popular until the early 80s as a viable means for the production of a plastic worm. The technique was formally developed by fishermen in southern California by the name of Dick Trask. He developed the technique in order to compete in local team events in lakes de So hard pressed.
