fishing packages
Do I have to thaw fish before I cook it?
I have some individually packaged cod fish I bought from the store. They are all in the freezer. The cooking instructions don't say to thaw out before cooking. Do I need to defrost it first or can I go ahead and cook it frozen?
A couple of things:
If it's a single individual filet ,just cook if frozen
Bake it and just allow a longer cooking time.
Restaurants cook frozen filets all the time>so it's not unheard of
I mean what do you think that McDonalds drops into their deep -fat fryers?
Thawed fish?
If it's a bunch of filets in a block then your gonna have to defrost it and the right way to do it and the fastest way to do is
To place it in some kind of container
Allowed COLD water to continually run on it
And......that cold water has to be constantly draining out of the container>so you need to elevate it above the drain somehow
