Fly Fishing Question about running lines and shooting heads?
i fish in a lake of coastal cutthroat trout. To get to where trout are what you need for the bottom line quickly and you need to get your line out close to the left. I am currently using a sink fast, but I can not get the starting line for what I wanted. I do well on a calm day and get a few fish here and there, but on a windy day that I can not get enough. I've been told I should use a line running with a head shot. I've never used any of these. How to run lines of work are lines sink or float? It will be a line running and a head shot me out beyond my fast-sinking line I use now and in the quick background? What should I buy and how it would install all up? Thanks
A head shot can give you more distance and a fast sinking head get you below where you want. A quick bar, if you're not casting, could also give a little away.
