buy saltwater fish

how much is a saltwater fish tank 75 gallons?
i want to buy a 75 gallon saltwater fish tank, and wanna know how much and what do i need to set it up, like lighting ect, and how much would it cost
Setup really depends on what livestock (fish, corals, invertebrates, etc.) you want to keep. Just a few suggestions, I would use sand as a substrate (at least 3 inches to aide in filtration), lots of live rock (75-90 pounds), one or two good powerheads (like the Koralia 3), and a quality protein skimmer (Octopus skimmers are a great value). That should be your primary source of filtration. If you are not keeping corals or anemones, you can get away with a couple of full-spectrum fluorescent bulbs, otherwise, you will want to look into T-5s or Metal Halides. I would also recommend a sump/refugium setup versus a canister or hang-on filter. This employees natural filtration methods, instead of mechanical filters like sponges, pads, bio-balls, etc.
There really is too much information to give in one sweeping answer, so do as much research as you can before setting up your tank. Be sure to buy quality equipment the first time around, as it's much more expensive to buy the cheap stuff now, and then have to upgrade later. If you can find someone selling a complete setup, you can usually save a lot of money. Purchasing everthing brand new for a 75 gallon, you are looking at around $1,500-$2,500 easy, so check online for a local saltwater club in your area, as you are bound to find deals there. Someone in my area recently sold a very nice 72 gallon reef setup for $400! Most importantly, be patient and have fun. If you can only buy 10 pounds of live rock at a time, do it, and keep your tank stocked accordingly, until you can add more.
Cheers
