Cardiff Festival
The Cardiff Festival is a celebration throughout the summer featuring the best in sporting events, theater, live music, park amusement and entertainment for youth. The festival, established 21 years ago, is organized and presented by the Council of Cardiff. The festival is comprised of small festivals ranging from July to August each year. Some of the most popular festivals for people to take part in are the Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival, WOW line coast, Festival of Children's Tesco, Admiral Cardiff Big Weekend, Welsh Proms Mermaid Quay and the port of Cardiff Festival and Carnival MAS.
Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival
The Cardiff International Food and Drink Festival will take place in Cardiff Bay. This festival brings to the fore in the kitchen Welsh traditional. Lavabread, for example, is a favorite offering at the festival and is made of seaweed. Food and beverages from around the world are also offered. This festival offers a variety of options to satisfy the most discerning connoisseurs of food.
WOW on the Waterfront
WOW on the line Coast is a new addition to the festival, introduced from 2007. It is an outdoor show that offers outstanding street from French theater theater Volants company plasticiens street.
Tesco Children's Festival
The Cardiff Festival also has something to offer young people and children through Children's Festival held in Tesco Cooper Field behind Cardiff Castle. This is a two-day event features fun activities such as interactive workshops, circus shows, sports and music events and characters walk. Other popular events are the Sheep Show and a mountain biking event.
Admiral Cardiff Big Weekend
The Cardiff Big Weekend is the grand finale of the festival and features a fireworks extravaganza that includes a screen, free concerts music, amusement park's biggest tour of the UK and the MAS Carnival. The performances of live music for three days and are held at the Admiral stage. The fun of traveling exhibition offers families fun activities that are sure to delight children and adults alike. Families should contact the Civic Center for exciting fun attractions and activities for the family. The finished sample MAS Carnival costumes, masks and headdresses, colorful and dazzling performances as giant carnival puppets.
Welsh Proms
The Lloyds TSB Welsh Proms is a celebration that has performed symphonic orchestra, a World Music for dancing, concerts for young people and dance with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony and the Cardiff Philharmonic Orchestra. Other activities for the 2008 festival include the children's dance, dance romantic favorites, the Russian Ballet Dance, Great classics dance and dance to name a few bodies.
Mermaid quay at Cardiff Festival
The port of Cardiff Mermaid Quay Festival is a celebration family-oriented revolves around a nautical theme. Visitors can enjoy fun and entertainment that includes water activities, workshops, nautical music and a pirate costume contest.
Other events are the common man Outdoor Theatre Festival which will stage an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet the grounds of Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Outdoor Action Show where visitors can participate in sports activities and exhibitions clock, the Fringe @ Cardiff Festival Bute Theatre presentations and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
