Help to identify a bamboo fishing / fly rod!?
I found this bamboo fishing pole in a really cool antique shop today. It is the flagship of the rod was a balloon and below what he said "Globe." This is an old rod, probably 80 or 90, very good condition. The strange thing was that the reel seat was above the cork handle, I've never seen a fly rod. Im pretty sure its either a fly rod is really long, 4 pieces, and get very thin on top, plus I do not know why anyone would make a bamboo rod spinning? anyway, if anyone has information, and what is worth i would appreciate. By the way, was about 40 dollars in the store. If your wooden box in an unopened package with a hook and a cork or two. in very good condition. What do you think the retail value is in good condition?
most likely from the 50s or 60s. I'm guessing the handle is reversible. many rods were built for use with multiple styles of fishing. mostly imported. I'm guessing this is also a relatively import cheaper in China or Japan. the U.S. market was flooded with lots of cheap imports from Asia after World War 2. it was not just for them. many American manufacturers of steel and copper rods in their day made them supposedly to be used as reeds and straw quality. especially telescopic. but if it is in good actual state, which is a fair price. you get the wooden box with him?:)
