Law of Success: Part II

Welcome to the second part of this series of three stages in commemoration of the 21st Century edition of the landmark work Napoleon Hill, "Law of Success" in which he reveals 17 principles of success based on its 25 years of research that examines the lives of more than 500 the greatest filmmakers in the world. (To read part one, visit: http://tinyurl.com/3d3loq).

In this special three part series, I highlight these 17 Principles of success both as an upgrade for those already familiar with the work of Hill, and as an introductory guide to the essential qualities of achievement for those who have not yet had the opportunity to study this great man that started the revolution of personal development. Enjoy:

Principle # 6: Imagination

"Imagination is the workshop of the human mind and the creative power of the soul," writes Hill. "First comes thought, then organization that thought into ideas and plans, then transformation of those plans into reality. The principle, as you can see, is in your imagination. "

According to Hill, there are two types of imagination: the synthetic imagination and creative imagination. synthetic imagination involves reorganizing the old ideas in new combinations to produce new solutions. To stimulate the creative imagination involves a repetition of thoughts that can be highly emotionalized combined with visualization, meditation and prayer centered on one main objective or solve a difficult problem, and then deliver the thoughts with the infinite intelligence to get new ideas, combinations and plans.

The artists, inventors and entrepreneurs often use a combination of both kinds of imagination. For example, many writers often intentionally stop writing in mid-sentence or paragraph unfinished heated in a particularly difficult moment in the plot and sleep in it. "During the rest of the night your subconscious mind through the power of creative intelligence, work on the solution, and upon awakening, the writer going to write nice to complete the idea.

Entrepreneurs often brainstorm and write down all the ideas, challenges and solutions available and resources on a problem difficult and then "forget about it." They can go on vacation for a long time. Upon his return, or even when on holiday, spring new ideas to help solve the problem.

To further develop their imagination, self-study, find out the internal motivations that drive to keep out certain tasks to complete while avoiding other tasks. Study of other people and human behavior around you. If you want to know what someone else will (If a client, boss, employee, partner or competitor), use your imagination to put yourself in their shoes. What would you do if that person? By being able to watch from another's perspective, not only helps build their imagination muscles, also helps build bridges.

Principle # 7: Enthusiasm

The enthusiasm comes from the Greek root "entheos", which literally means God within. Enthusiasm is the vital force that drives the action. Great leaders inspire others to action by their own enthusiasm, which is highly contagious.

"It's not so much what you say because it is the tone and manner in which he says what he does a lasting impression, "writes Hill.

I remember one time a "recruiter" had called and left a message for me asking for a interview. I checked the company website and liked what he had to do. I was willing to come for an interview, but when I returned call from the recruiter and told him, the tone of his voice clearly indicated that she was not happy with her work and I was just a number to make your appointment fee.

Although the conversation was polite and professional, his tone and manner of speaking, said he did not care. Needless to say I have not come to an interview, and not too much hard to guess that the company was losing business recruitment for the truck because a person – probably hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue.

Surprisingly (or perhaps not so surprising, given the poor customer service survey results in North America) that companies are willing to continue losing millions to treat its frontline workers who have first line of contact with clients as an "expense" rather than as an investment.

The companies that will become champions in this economy information are those who treat their customer service and sales staff as vice president of Customer Relations. These organizations will have a huge competitive advantage by investing only a fraction of the money (money that would normally be lost to poor service) to pay rates above the industry average maintained professional quality customer service, investing in their professional development, teaching basic skills of human relations, and help create a better work environment.

Principle # 8: Self

Hill acutely observes that the control of self directed his enthusiasm. A prudent business principle is to maintain calm when others are hot. As Hill says, "they generally controlling the head of the job."

I can not remember how many business deals that I lost because I contacted a potential client in a moment of anger or frustration (either due to the business at hand or something completely different.) It's amazing how much a business can meet only count to ten, taking a few deep breaths and think of something pleasant for a few seconds before make or take that important call!

If you've tried these techniques, without much success and even angry with someone, at least try to write off system "before coming to this person. Write a letter to this person very hot vent about what you feel is inappropriate behavior or problem or injustice you think they have found.

After reading the letter to yourself, Tear It Up and throw it away! Now you can approach this person and make your case with a level head without blame or put too emotional. Maybe it was a simple misunderstanding.

I'm not saying that this method will work forever. Sometimes one has to confront to someone and express anger – but those moments are rare in that it is productive. Using this technique a single disaster can save you countless abuse related business and may even help to promote more than the next person who blows his top!).

Never retaliate against those who offend you. Be a leader being a person of poise and self-control.

Principle # 9: The habit of doing more than paid for

"Give people a little more what they hope is a good way to get back more than I expected "- Robert Half

We get back in life what we give. Upon entry into the habit of doing ever more than you paid, you will meet with opportunities for growth, progress and promotion at every turn the corner. (It is possible that these immediate opportunities with current employer, but eventually competitors will notice and we will provide many opportunities if your employer is not willing to do so.)

Napoleon Hill offers numerous real-life examples of ordinary people achieve extraordinary heights of achievement and success in using this principle one in his magnum opus: "Law of Success: The issue of the 21st century."

Principle # 10: a pleasant personality

Hill says a pleasant personality is a person it attracts. This is your character and how you carry yourself. Are you dressed for success in regard to their field? Do you speak with confidence?

Do you offer a firm handshake and a warm smile and a limp "dead fish" handshake with a forced smile and stiff?

Does an appropriate level of eye contact, given the cultural context or has shifty eyes that makes people feel uncomfortable? Are you flexible in mind, body and spirit? Do expressed genuine interest in others?

The best way to develop a pleasing personality is to demonstrate a strong interest in other people. If this recruiter was expressed the slightest interest in what I did as a person, I would have missed the initial awkwardness of the call and come in an interview. His lack of personality friendly and cost his company lost a number of contracts.

It's much more fun and profitable to have a nice personality!

Principle # 11: Thinking exact

"The facts, just the facts, ma'am" – Sgt. On Friday Dragnet

Do not believe everything you read in the news. Much of it is planted by powerful lobbyists and corporations with hidden agendas. Get in the habit of basing its decisions on objective and avoid gossip, rumors, and conjecture.

Even everyday practices that are broadly accepted can be based on wrong assumptions. In the Middle Ages, bloodletting was a common practice that is believed to help cure a variety of diseases. It was a common belief among physicians that the disease caused bad blood and bled as patients for every conceivable ailment under the sun. This crude and ineffective medical ritual continued for 2,500 years until it was discovered that germs do not, bad blood, were responsible for the disease.

Today, we have our own version of bloodshed that is much more tortuous than in the Middle Ages. Take for invasive medical practices such as coronary stenting and angioplasty. author of Freakonomics, Steven D. Levitt, sites a recent NY Times article that, according to Levitt, "says the study found that the weight of coronary stent placement is generally more effective than heart drugs, despite that is much more invasive – and undoubtedly profitable for the medical personnel involved. "(According to The New York Times," angioplasty and stenting generally costs between $ 25,000 and $ 50,000).

I think we need a new name for 21st Century bloodshed. If you've read here, maybe I can convince Mr. Webster to add the moneyletting term for the dictionary.

If someone makes a broad statement that puts in doubt this person can ask the question that Napoleon Hill likes to ask, "How do you know?"

We have not even begun to scratch the surface precise thinking. But to get to the heart of the main idea of Hill, the exact thought is to separate important facts from unimportant.

The facts important is that you can use in achieving its primary objective. I'm not saying irrelevant facts that can help enrich your life. But by focusing most of their time on the important facts in regard to its main purpose is to help get there faster and faster …

I hope you enjoyed Part II of this "Law of Success" series. (You can visit my blog for the Law of Success Part III).
